Factors Affecting Innovative Work Behavior among Lecturers in Demonstration Schools Affiliated with Autonomous Universities in Bangkok

Abstract

         The objectives of this research were to study 1) the levels of grit, proactive work behavior, playful work design, and innovative work behavior among lecturers in demonstration schools affiliated with autonomous universities in Bangkok, and 2) the influences of grit, proactive work behavior, and playful work design on the innovative work behavior of lecturers in demonstration schools affiliated with autonomous universities in Bangkok. The sample chosen by convenience sampling are 395 lecturers in demonstration schools affiliated with autonomous universities in Bangkok. The research instruments included a personal factors questionnaire, grit scale, proactive work behavior scale, playful work design scale, and innovative work behavior scale. The statistical analyses frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson’s Correlation Coefficient, included and multiple regression analysis.


The results of this research showed that 1) the lecturers at a demonstration schools affiliated with autonomous universities in Bangkok demonstrated a very high level of grit and proactive work behavior, a high level of playful work design, and a moderate level of innovative work behavior grit (β = .17, p < .001), proactive work behavior (β = .28, p < .001), and playful work design (β = .50,
p < .001) jointly predicted the innovative work behavior among lecturers in demonstration schools affiliated with autonomous universities in Bangkok, accounting for 63%
(equation= .63), at .001 level of significance.
