Development of Information Systems For Cost Management of Construction Projects : Case Study D.E.S. Co., Ltd.

Abstract

      The objective of this research is to analyze problems and assess the cost management approach. and develop information systems for managing Information System project costs. The study was conducted in D.E.S. Co., Ltd. that had problems in estimating and concluding project costs due to complex data structures. The research process was as follows: 1) Interview and diagnosis 2) study data and analysis of the previous work system. Implementing a new work system, 3) designing a database management system, 4) design the operation of the system, 5) develop system and 6) satisfaction assessment. by a group of 7 user. The results were reported as averages. and standard deviation

       Results of the development of information systems for managing project costs. Web applications created from Visual Studio Code in conjunction with PHP language, databases are managed with MySQL. The system is divided into 12 sub-sections: 1) User Data Management 2) Project Data Management 3) Worker Data Management 4) Materials Management 5) Supplier Data Management 6) Material Order 7) Check and accept orders 8) Disbursement of materials and equipment 9) Record the time in and out of workers 10) Calculate salary 11) Calculate project costs 12) Issue reports. The results of using the system from the satisfaction assessment of the use of the system, was found that 1) in terms of appearance and ease of use, 2) in terms of the ability of web applications, and 3) in terms of user requirements. All 3 aspects were satisfied at the highest level, and the system was quick, accurate data management and clearly cost summary.
