Driving Mission Strategies of the Office of the Education Council in Supporting the National Strategy

Abstract

This futures research aimed to develop strategies to drive the mission of the Office of the Education Council (OEC.) in supporting the national strategy according to the basic government management. There were 4 steps: relevant documents’ study for formulating the draft challenged issues in driving the mission, focused group discussions to evaluate the challenged issues by 3 experts and 30 persons of the holistic management system working group, public hearings by 150 service recipients and stakeholders from government, state-owned enterprises, private and public sectors, and determining the mission driving strategies by 3 rounds Delphi Techniques from 23 experts in education, strategic management, and quality improvement. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and content analysis. The results revealed that there were 12 challenged issues in 4 strategies. The strategies were to drive the educational plan and the educational law in order to raise the standards to be international standards; driving OEC into a data center Information and research for development into educational innovation; precipitating the resources management to reduce disparities in access to quality educational services; educational reform for human resource development to support the national development.
