Announcement: Change in Citation Style to Chicago Style 17th Edition (Author-Date)

2025-06-11

Dear Authors, Contributors, and Readers,

The Journal of International Buddhist Studies (JIBS) officially wants to announce a change in its citation and referencing style. Beginning with Volume 16, No. 2, all manuscripts submitted to JIBS must follow the Chicago Manual of Style, 17th Edition – Author-Date system.

This change has been implemented to align with international academic publishing standards and to ensure consistency across all articles.
For more detailed guidelines and examples, please look at the Chicago Manual of Style Online or our website's updated JIBS Author Guidelines section.

We appreciate your attention to this important update and thank you for your continued support of JIBS.

Sincerely,
Editorial Team
