Abstract

The objectives of this research are 1) examine the fundamental context and needs for promoting lifelong learning through local wisdom among people in Roi Et Province based on the Threefold Wisdom (Paññā 3) 2) develop a model for promoting lifelong learning through local wisdom, and 3) evaluate and disseminate the developed model. The sample consisted of 254 participants, including administrators, volunteer teachers, non-formal education teachers, and community learning center instructors. The research instruments included an interview form, a questionnaire, and a model manual evaluation form. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation.

The findings revealed that: 1) Roi Et Province has a strong socio-cultural context, with temples and local wisdom serving as the foundation for lifelong learning. The learning process of the people aligns with the Threefold Wisdom, namely listening, analytical thinking, and practical application. The success of lifelong learning promotion is attributed to collaboration among temples, schools, non-formal education institutions, government agencies, and local administrative organizations. The overall needs for promoting lifelong learning through local wisdom were at a high level, ranked from highest to lowest as informal learning, non-formal learning, and formal learning. 2) The model for promoting lifelong learning through local wisdom consists of three main components: 1) informal learning, 2) non-formal learning, and 3) formal learning. Each component comprises five sub-components, totaling 15 sub-components and 75 indicators. 3) The evaluation and dissemination of the model through the user manual indicated that the model had the highest levels of appropriateness, feasibility, and usefulness. The body of knowledge derived from this research highlights that integrating local wisdom with the Threefold Wisdom effectively enhances lifelong learning, with community collaboration serving as a key driving mechanism.
