This research aimed to 1) create a local history learning innovation by using design thinking through Lanna folk songs for lower secondary students, 2) evaluate a local history learning innovation by using design thinking through Lanna folk songs for lower secondary students, and 3) study the results of using a local history learning innovation by using design thinking through Lanna folk songs for lower secondary students to promote global citizenship of lower secondary school students. This research was a research and development project, divided into 2 phases as follows: Phase 1: the study of data from documents and research related to innovation development, interviews, and evaluation of innovation by 5 experts; and Phase 2: the trial of using the innovation. The sample group from the purposive sampling was 18 students in Matthayomsuksa 1 at Pang Fueang School, Chiang Dao District, Chiang Mai Province. The research instruments included data recording forms, interview forms, and evaluation forms. The statistics used for analyzing data consisted of percentages, means, and standard deviations.
The findings were 1) according to the studying data from documents and research related to innovation development and interviewing experts, it led to the creation of 5 learning plans, totaling 10 hours, designed to be consistent with the structure of Design Thinking, including the steps of understanding the problem (Empathize), defining the problem (Define), brainstorming (Ideate), creating a prototype (Prototype), and testing the prototype (Test), 2) the result of the evaluation of the local history learning innovation by using design thinking through Lanna folk songs for lower secondary students was that the overall results of the appropriateness evaluation of the local history learning plan were at the highest level (ð=4.77, S.D.=0.79), 3) the results of using the local history learning innovation by using design thinking through Lanna folk songs for lower secondary students were 1. the overall result of the evaluation of the consistency of skills promoting global citizenship was at the highest level (=4.77, S.D.=0.79) and 2. the overall result of the satisfaction evaluation of the local history learning innovation was at the highest level (
