Publication Ethics |
The Journal of Peace Periscope is dedicated to promoting and sharing valuable academic works and research in the humanities and social sciences. It serves as a platform for the exchange of academic knowledge and opinions among faculty, academics, students, and those interested in these fields. The journal welcomes articles from various disciplines such as religion, philosophy, sociology, political science, public administration, local development, education, and interdisciplinary human and social sciences. Each article undergoes a thorough review process by at least two experts before publication. We accept submissions in both Thai and English and adhere to established guidelines and ethics to ensure the quality and integrity of the journal as follows: |
Roles and Duties of Authors |
1. Authors are required to refrain from submitting articles that have been previously published and avoid submitting duplicate manuscripts to multiple journals. |
2. Authors are expected to uphold research ethics by avoiding copyright infringement and plagiarism. The journal employs the CopyCatch program on the ThaiJO website to detect any instances of work duplication, with a threshold set at 25%. |
3. Writers should adhere to the specific writing style outlined in the journal's "Guidelines for Authors" to ensure consistency in the formatting and publishing standards of the articles. |
4. The author must reference any works, images, or tables used in their article, specifying the "source" to prevent copyright infringement. In the event of a lawsuit, the responsibility lies solely with the author, and the journal will not be held liable in any way. |
5. The author of the article must revise their work according to the recommendations or evaluations provided by the editor and qualified experts in the respective field. If the revisions are not made as per the recommendations, the journal reserves the right to refuse publication of the article. |
6. The author must present accurate information based on academic principles, and factual findings from research studies or data collection, without distorting or providing false information, and without bias at every stage of the research process. |
7. The author must disclose the name of the funding source(s) that supported the research, if applicable. |
8. The writer must accurately and comprehensively cite the sources of information/works used to support the article's writing. This includes both in-text citations and a list of references at the end of the article, following the principles of referencing (APA 6 style). |
Roles and Duties of The Editor and Editorial Team |
1. The editorial team, along with the editor, are tasked with evaluating each submission to the journal to ensure it aligns with the journal's objectives and scope. This includes conducting a thorough assessment of the article's quality before publication. |
2. It is the responsibility of editors and editorial staff to oversee and monitor submissions, taking necessary action against any authors or articles found to have engaged in unethical practices such as plagiarism. The journal implemented the CopyCatch program to detect any instances of work duplication, with a threshold set at 25% on the ThaiJO website. |
3. Editors and editorial staff are required to maintain impartiality and avoid conflicts of interest with authors or experts, whether for personal gain or academic purposes. |
4. Editors and editorial staff are obligated to maintain confidentiality regarding author information and the identities of those evaluating articles, ensuring a double-blind peer review process where names are concealed during evaluation to prevent bias. |
5. To uphold good governance in operations, it is imperative that the editor does not possess any conflicts of interest with the author and evaluators. |
6. When evaluating articles, editors and editorial staff must adhere to academic principles without any bias towards the article or the author. This includes refraining from considering factors such as race, gender, religion, culture, politics, and the author's affiliation. |
7. Editors and editorial staff must diligently follow the various processes and procedures outlined by the journal. Additionally, they should continuously strive to enhance and streamline the journal management process, ensuring efficiency and adherence to standard criteria for quality. |
8. The editor and editorial team bear the responsibility of recruiting qualified experts whose expertise aligns with the field of the article. This is crucial for accurately assessing the article's quality. In cases deemed appropriate, the article will undergo a thorough evaluation process to determine its quality. |
9. The editor and editorial team must carefully consider and publish research results that employ correct research methods and yield reliable outcomes. They should utilize these research findings as a guiding principle to determine whether the research should be published or not. |
Roles and Duties of Article Evaluators |
1. It is imperative for article evaluators to uphold confidentiality by refraining from divulging any information regarding the articles under consideration to individuals not involved in the evaluation process. This obligation extends even after the completion of the evaluation process. |
2. Article evaluators must acknowledge their expertise and possess a comprehensive understanding of the content of the articles they are assessing. In instances where the evaluator lacks the necessary expertise, it is essential to inform the editorial board or reject the article. Furthermore, adherence to the specified evaluation timeframe by the journal is crucial. |
3. Article evaluators are prohibited from utilizing any portion of the evaluated content as their work without obtaining consent from the article owner or the journal. |
4. Evaluators must assess the quality of the article based on academic principles, devoid of any biases related to the author's race, religion, gender, culture, politics, ideology, or affiliation. Additionally, it is essential to ensure there is no conflict of interest with the author. |
5. If an article evaluator identifies similarities or instances of plagiarism within the text, prompt notification to the editor is necessary. |
