Roles and Duties of Educational Technology Departments in Higher Education Institutions in the Digital Era

Abstract

Educational technology organizations need to improve their roles and responsibilities  to become a digital organization. To promote education and facilitate lifelong learning focused  on the development and application of technological innovations to create equal education.  Educational technology therefore plays an important role in the use of teaching and learning  management. Including in the operation of educational institutions in the field of educational  management that need to use technology as a tool to drive education management.  However, the important role of production and service in the digital era of educational  technology organizations requires the production of lessons and media in online formats.  Production and service of mobile applications and websites. Development and design of  a learning management system (LMS). Required instructional design. Providing consulting services and training in the use of applications and multimedia. Technology services related to  learning management system, learning assessment tools, and interactive materials. It includes  providing environmental consulting services in the classroom and the use of online teaching  materials. This is because the study, analysis and synthesis of the roles and duties of educational technology organizations in Thailand have not yet found such roles. Therefore, it is necessary  to develop a production model and provide educational technology services in order to use  information and communication technology to support teaching and learning to be up-to-date  and keep pace with international principles and in line with the direction of digital technology changes occurring in the present and the future.
