Learning management of The Philosophy of Education and Curriculum Development Course through Small Group Discussion and Classroom presentation, 2nd year Bachelor of Education Students, Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, Khon Kaen Campus

Abstract

This research aimed to (1) study the learning management approach in the Philosophy of Education and Curriculum Development course using the small group discussion and classroom presentation method, and (2) compare the learning outcomes before and after the small group discussion and classroom presentation method. The study was a classroom research by studying a population group of 51 second-year students in the Social Studies and Thai Language Teaching Program, Semester 1, Academic Year 2023. The instruments were the Philosophy of Education and Curriculum Development lesson plan and a 20-question multiple-choice test to measure the learning development of students before and after the small group discussion method. The results of the study found that 1) Small Group Discussion is a process that teachers use to help students learn according to the specified objectives by organizing students into small groups of approximately 4-8 people and having students in the group discuss and exchange information and experiences on specified issues, and summarize the group's results before the discussion as a conclusion and present it in class. 2) The results of comparing the learning development of each student found that everyone had increased learning development.
