Abstract

The purposes of this research article were 1) to study the effects of using the STEAM Education concept to develop skills in organizing learning activities for the "Art for Children" course of third-year students; and 2) to evaluate the satisfaction of third year students regarding learning the "Art for Children" course based on the STEAM Education concept. This research was an experimental study employing One-Group Pre-test Post-test Design. The sample consisted of 16 third-year students majoring in Art Education, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Phetchaburi Rajabhat University, during the second semester of the 2025 academic year, selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments included 1) a 20-item pre-test and post-test to measure learning achievement, with a reliability coefficient of 0.92; and 2) a 10-item satisfaction questionnaire using a 5-point rating scale, with an Index of Item-Objective Congruence (IOC) ranging from 0.80 to 1.00 and a reliability coefficient of 0.70. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and the t-test for dependent samples. The research findings revealed that 1) the students' learning achievement after learning through the STEAM Education approach was significantly higher than before learning at the .05 level, with a pre-test mean score of 8.75 (equation = 8.75, S.D. = 2.97) and a post-test mean score of 16.28 (equation = 16.28, S.D. = 1.87); and 2) the students' overall satisfaction with the "Art for Children" course based on the STEAM Education approach was at the highest level (equation = 4.94, S.D. = 0.19).
