Abstract

This article aims to analyze the opportunities and challenges faced by low-carbon businesses in Thailand through the assessment of economic environments, government policies, and relevant clean technologies. It focuses on evaluating the potential of the business sector to transition towards environmentally friendly operations that reduce greenhouse gas emissions.


The study finds that low-carbon businesses in Thailand have significant growth opportunities due to rising demand for renewable energy, government support, and international pressure to reduce carbon footprints. However, these businesses face severe challenges such as high initial investment costs, policy uncertainty, lack of knowledge and technology, and organizational resistance to change.The article proposes policy reforms to establish clear and consistent regulations, promote research and development of clean technologies, enhance human resource capabilities, and foster collaboration among businesses, government, and civil society to support sustainable low-carbon business transition.This article hopes to contribute to raising awareness and fostering serious cooperation across sectors, enabling Thailand to effectively address environmental challenges and develop businesses sustainably in the future.
