Factors affecting work safety behavior and work efficiency of an automotive manufacturing employee in Bangkok province

Abstract
The objectives of this research were to examine: (1) the levels of working environment, safety management, safety enhancement, work safety behavior, and work efficiency; (2) the effects of working environment, safety management in the factory, and safety enhancement on employees’ work safety behavior; and (3) the effect of work safety behavior on work efficiency among employees of an automotive manufacturing company in Bangkok province. The sample included 300 employees of the company. The research instrument was a questionnaire. The data analysis was done by using mean, standard deviation, and structural equation model. The findings revealed that: (1) the working environment, safety management, safety enhancement, work safety behavior, and work efficiency were all at the highest level; (2) the working environment, safety management in the factory, and safety enhancement had a statistically significant effect on work safety behavior at the 0.05 level; and (3) work safety behavior had a statistically significant effect on work efficiency at the 0.05 level.
