Pole of Local Politicians in Community Development of Thung Kwao Sub-district Municipality, Mueang Phrae District, Phrae Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research article were 1) to study the role levels of local politicians; 2) to study the relationship between Sangahavatthu and the roles of local politicians; and 3) to study the problems, obstacles, and recommendations for community development in Thung Kwaw Subdistrict Municipality, Mueang Phrae District, Phrae Province. This was a mixed methods research. Qualitative research was conducted with in-depth interviews of 9 people, using descriptive content analysis techniques. Quantitative research was used by distributing questionnaires to 370 samples. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The research results found that 1) the levels of role of local politicians in development of the organization in terms of Sangahavatthu was overall at a high level overall (= 3.57, S.D. = 0.66) and the levels of role of local politicians in development of the community in 4 aspects was overall at a high level (= 3.51, S.D. = 0.73); 2) in terms of the relationship between Sangahavatthu ​​and the roles of local politicians, there was overall a fairly high positive relationship (R=.799**) with a statistical significance of 0.01, so the hypothesis was accepted; 3) the problems and obstacles found that local politicians still lacked knowledge and ability. There should be an urgent road improvement and repair project. Activities should be organized for community to have people participate in learning continuously. People lacked knowledge and understanding about community development. As well as they were not aware of the ethics and morality in caring for and conserving the environment, and the budget for public health management that was insufficient.
